We believe that Scripture clearly prescribes that the church is to be led by a body of elders who are men of character filled with the wisdom and power of the Spirit (1 Tim 2:12-14, 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9). The elders are ultimately responsible for doctrinal purity and their leadership is to be exercised with all diligence and care for the growth and health of our church family. There are different leadership teams which serve the Trinity body under the supervision and authority of the elder board.
Dan is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1987 his pastor said to him, “I think this is what you are looking for,” and then handed him the book “Desiring God” by John Piper. The impact of that book would be felt over the next several years as his love for the gospel and God’s word grew. Eventually he left a successful small business to pursue pastoral ministry. He has served as a church planter in Minnesota and an associate pastor in Southern California. He now serves TCC through preaching, leadership and vision. Dan and his wife Tina have been married for 31 years and live in Gurnee. They love their 4 children and adore their 3 grandchildren. Dan has a B.S. in Psychology and Christian Counseling from Liberty University and is a graduate of the Sovereign Grace Ministries Pastors College.

Sarah was 14 when she heard the gospel for the first time while away at summer camp. After making a commitment to Christ, she found herself greatly blessed by various student ministries such as her church youth group, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and summer youth camp. As a result, she developed a passion for ministering to kids who, like her, may not have grown up in a Christian home. She went on to get her degree in Youth Ministry and Biblical Studies at Trinity International University and participated as a volunteer in several great student ministries along the way. In 2004, God called her back to school to get her elementary teaching license, and she spent 8 years teaching second and third grade students at a Christian school. In 2012 she married Jay Kim and in 2014 they welcomed their first child, Sophie. Sarah is excited to be back in ministry and is thankful for God’s call to minister to the kids here at Trinity.
Kristin Gumminger became a follower of Christ during high school and found her faith growing deeper during her years as a college and graduate student at the University of Illinois, a high school teacher in St. Louis, and a seminary student at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Kristin loves to help women grow and exercise their gifts, so she is delighted to serve as Women’s Ministry Director at TCC. She also serves as Associate Professor of Communication at Trinity College. Kristin and David met at TCC when they were selected to play a husband and wife in a drama ministry skit, and they are now a real-life married couple and parents to Caleb.
